The Fourth Annual Walk for Ravenswood is in its initial stages with their fundraising event being on May 8, 2013. It will be a “fun and fit activity for Pre-K through 3rd grade students” with all children reaching for their personal fundraising goal of 60 minutes.
“The goal of the Walk for Ravenswood is to raise funds for equipment and supplies needed for the music, drama, and art programs. Ravenswood designs curriculum that engages students in experiential learning and critical thinking by bringing the arts directly to the classroom.” On the homepage of the Ravenswood walk-a-thon website they’ve fully described their mission and are letting their community know of their need to purchase art supplies, script copyrights, prop inventory, a theater curtain, and audio and visual equipment. Marketing, registrations, secure online donations and donor communications are all managed through their fundraising website.
Teachers and parents have joined together in helping their children to raise more funds with each annual walk-a-thon. A group of 7 classes will walk in the morning and 6 in the afternoon.
