Crowdfunding – Sea Paddle NYC 2013

An exciting pledge fundraising event begins on August 9 during which surfers will paddle the waters of Manhattan. The Sea Paddle NYC 2013 charity campaign, hosted by Surfers Environmental Alliance, is well underway, with paddlers joining the event online from all over the world to help by joining this cause.

As surfers register to participate on the Sea Paddle NYC 2013 website, they will create individual and team fundraising pages by easily uploading any combination of up to four photos or YouTube videos. Their personal fundraising pages allow for them the opportunity to make a more compelling and emotional appeal to prospective donors while safely and securely collecting online donations. Their onlinefundraising website holds the power to reach donors nationwide and across the Planet in spreading the word in support of their cause through email, Facebook and other social media networks.

Surfers Environmental Alliance has raised nearly $50,000 thus far towards their fundraising goal. They are committed to the preservation and protection of the environmental and cultural elements that are inherent to the sport of surfing. Their goals are achieved through grassroots activism, community involvement, education and humanitarian efforts. “We engage in projects that strive to conserve the quality of our marine environment, preserve or enhance surf breaks, protect beach access rights, and safeguard the coastal surf zone from unnecessary development.”

Partnerships hold a key facet in this dynamic pledge fundraising event. As coastal advocates, SEA is incorporating Sandy Relief (aid to Storm Sandy) as a component for their support, which broadens the scope for this campaign as it brings in more funds for their immediate cause. Autism Family Services NJ, Best Day Foundation, Parents of Autistic Children (POAC) and Virginia Autism Project combine their resources with SEA in creating a powerful team in advertising, funding and building strong relationships nationwide for this annual event and others.
