Zoowalk for Autism Research is an annual walk-a-thon being held on October 5 to raise funds for Autism through the Asperger’s Research Program at Arizona State University. Over 1000 participants will walk for this noble cause.
“The walk is a family-oriented gathering which anyone can join…children, adults, grandparents, students, corporate teams and more.”
The emphasis on teams is especially unique within this event. The Top 5 fundraising teams are posted on their website, and the team fundraising pages display the amount of pledges received with comments from donors, the percentage of their goal achieved to-date, a personal fundraising appeal, and the number of days before the walk-a-thon fundraising event. Social sharing widgets are provided so that visitors can easily send an email to a friend or share the website on Facebook or Twitter helping to spread the word and drive more traffic to the fundraising website, Zoowalk for Autism Research.
“Our 2013 goal is to raise $150,000 to support several exciting studies for children and adults with autism, including: Multi-treatment nutritional and dietary treatment study; Planning a prevention study for high-risk families; Special Probiotic to normalize gut bacteria and thereby treat gut problems; Special Diet to reduce seizures in ASD; Novel Therapy (GcMAF) for Immune System Problems in ASD. Autism is treatable!”
Zoowalk ends inside the Phoenix Zoo which is such a fun and heart warming activity to celebrate the fundraising efforts for an issue affecting children and families. It invites donors and participants to be a part of the playful innocence of kids and empathize with those who are affected by autism. The Zoowalk for Autism Research fundraising team has created a valuable marketing tool by appealing to the hearts of their pledge fundraising event donors.
