San Jose Sharks Wine Tasting Fundraiser

“The San Jose Sharks are as deeply involved with the neighborhood we live in as we are with the game that we play. As role models, we feel responsible to give back to the community that so strongly supports us.”

On March 5th, the San Jose Sharks Foundation is hosting a wine tasting fundraiser. To entice prospective donors, they have chosen a venue for their charity event few can resist, and are offering tastings of the finest wines from Northern California. Attendees of one of the most exclusive private wine tasting events will also get to meet The San Jose Sharks players, coaches and broadcasters.

The collective shared excitement and passion for the game of hockey and life in the San Francisco Bay Area connect them the team and their supporters in this unique atmosphere. It is a wine tasting fundraiser which truly gives fans a once in a lifetime, up close and personal experience. The two hour wine tasting includes 14 of Northern California’s most exclusive wineries, and light appetizers. To add an additional fundraising opportunity, the Foundation will include live, Premier and silent auctions with proceeds benefiting the Sharks Foundation’s grant process and numerous programs dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth and families in need in the Bay Area.

The Sharks Foundation is proud to announce that partial proceeds from their Sampling with the Sharks wine tasting fundraiser presented by Citrix will benefit San Jose Rotary’s partnership with Rotaplast International. Rotaplast International, a 501(c)(3) non-profit humanitarian organization, was founded in 1992 as a world community service project in an effort to provide free reconstructive operations and treatment for children in need.

Hosting a Wine Tasting Fundraiser

To host a successful wine tasting event, your organization will need to have wine experts to talk about the wines. A sommelier would certainly do the trick, if you have connections. Otherwise, ask the participating vineyards or wine shops to send an expert to present their wine.

You will also need to sell tickets and promote your participating vineyards and sponsors online, prior to the event. A fundraising website is also used to brand the event and mirror your business or nonprofit website, and spread the word about the event on social media platforms. Whether you are planning a charity wine tasting for a corporation or a nonprofit organization, utilizing a  quality fundraising website can make all the difference.

Fundraising websites from DoJiggy can assist your organization with the following features and capabilities:

  • Managing secure online registrations for guests
  • Assigning table assignments for individual registrations (if the wine tasting is paired with a gala event)
  • Selling sponsorship packages
  • Promoting sponsors and participating vineyards or businesses on your website
  • Social media sharing links, for easy sharing and event promotion
  • Selling products and accepting secure online donations
  • Detailed financial reporting
